I made a comment yesterday while I was sitting on the couch watching a Christmas movie that in December I'm in a ridiculously good mood almost 24/7. This is an honest comment. I LOVE this time of year. Not only because Christmas just warms the soul, but I like the crisp cold and the start of a new year, full of possibilities. It's always an exciting time. However, there is one thing which somewhat takes away from my positivity: the step back I always take in terms of health.
I never get sick. Except for around the holidays. At first I thought I was just unlucky, but then I started looking at my habits. For 90% of the year, my habits are really healthy. I workout five or six times per week, and I eat clean almost all week every week. However, once Thanksgiving rolls around, it all gets a little more interesting. The Christmas music starts, and my motivation goes toward making copious amounts of foods (mostly sweets) and buying gifts for people. Inevitably, I get at least a little cold if not something worse. Not this year though. The gifts can stay, but they're going to have to make room for things that give me energy like working out and making the right nutritional decisions.
With this in mind, I'm making two rules for myself to follow every day this season:
Along those lines, I wanted to include all of you guys in my goal of making this the healthiest holiday season yet. Not only is having a group to back you in your efforts more fun, it comes with free stuff! Every order of Driven Nutrition products this month will come with a free blender bottle. Here's the deal on Driven: they make great tasting products which are clean and effective. I've been using them for a month now, and they are the best tasting products I have tried yet. Now, I know a lot of people claim that taste shouldn't matter, but let's be honest, if it is disgusting to drink, who is going to do it consistently? Answer: no one. Success in nutrition is all about consistency. Go check out their website to see all of what they have to offer.
